What we do
Grout is the weakest part of a tiled wall, and in a London bathroom it takes daily water and hard-water scale. Once it cracks or goes, water gets behind the tiles, which is a much bigger job than the grout.

How we do it
First we rake the old grout out of the joints. New grout laid over old sits proud of the tile, holds dirt and breaks up again, so this is most of the work and it is not a step to skip.
Then the joints are vacuumed out, cleaned and left dry, because grout mixed onto a damp or dusty joint never reaches full strength.
Last we work a mould-resistant grout fully into the joints, strike them to an even line, clean the tile faces down and seal the finished grout.
