What we assemble
The time a job takes is set by the instruction sequence and the number of parts, not the size of the box. We read the whole sequence and check every fixing against the parts list before a single bag is opened.

We assemble IKEA ranges including PAX, HEMNES, MALM, NORDLI, KALLAX, BILLY and PLATSA, and flat pack from Argos, Wayfair, Habitat, John Lewis and every major retailer, with cam locks and dowels hand-tightened, never power-driven.

What it costs
Labour only, charged by time. These are working times from experience, not the figure on the box. Several items in one visit run on at the same rate, with no extra charge between them.
IKEA PAX, done properly
PAX is the item we build most in London. The thin back panel has to be slotted before the carcase is closed, and the cam locks are hand-tightened, because a cam housing stripped by a drill cannot be put right.
IKEA requires PAX units over 201cm to be fixed to the wall. In plasterboard that means finding the stud, and in the lath and plaster of an unrenovated Victorian or Edwardian house it means finding the stud and drilling slowly so the plaster does not crack.
The doors come last, adjusted on all three planes so they sit flush, close quietly and leave an even gap at the top.
Where we cover
We cover all London boroughs plus the TW, KT, CR and BR postcode areas. Hallways in Victorian conversions are too narrow to move a built wardrobe, so we build it in the room it will live in, and pre-1930 floors are often 8 to 15mm out of level across a room. Engineers cross central London by motorcycle and scooter, which means faster arrival and easier parking.
Landlords and letting agents
Furnishing a flat between tenancies is one visit, not several: a handyman works through the list from wardrobes and beds to living room storage, at the same rate with no charge between items.
We protect new carpets and fresh paint, work within building access rules, and leave the property tidy and ready to let.

Why we level before the doors
A wardrobe stood on an uneven floor goes out of square, and doors hung on a carcase that is out of square will never close properly.
So the carcase is levelled first, on adjustable feet where it has them and on timber wedges where it does not, before the internal fittings or doors go on.
Missing fixings are flagged before we start, and we will not build an item where a missing part would leave it unsafe.

We check fixings against the parts list before starting, and will not build an item where a missing part would leave it unsafe. IKEA spares can be ordered online.
