Be wary of a very cheap EICR
There is a prevailing belief in the electrical industry that EICRs are a loss leader that will generate more lucrative follow-on remedial work. We strongly resist that idea, because it simply incentivises failing current installations and can lead to unscrupulous practices.
An EICR is an important stand-alone safety check. Testing and inspecting existing circuits takes time, and an accurate assessment is a real indication of the condition of those circuits. We do not treat it as a way to generate further work.
