Picture, Mirror & Painting hanging in London
Silver Saints hang pictures, mirrors, paintings and gallery walls across London. We find the stud, use a fixing rated to the weight, and leave everything level and secure.
Plus fixings. No call-out fee. Saturday at the weekday rate. Estimate before we start.
What we hang
One picture or a whole wall. We work out what the wall is made of first, then choose a fixing rated to the weight of the piece.
Heavy mirror hanging
Mirror plates or a cleat fixed into the stud or masonry, rated to the mirror weight.
Large or valuable paintings
A French cleat spreads the load across two fixings so a big canvas sits flat.
Gallery wall layout
Frames set out, spacing agreed, then drilled once and hung level first time.
Plasterboard and stud walls
Studs located and screwed into, or rated anchors used where no stud lines up.
Solid brick and masonry
Masonry drilled and plugged, avoiding cables and pipes buried in the wall.
Lath and plaster walls
Fixed into the lath or the stud, because plugs pull through fragile lime plaster.
Picture rail hanging
Hung from the original rail on cords or chains, with no wall fixings at all.
Levelling and spacing a set
Frame centres set to one line so a row or grid reads straight across.
Security fixings for art
Anti-theft plates and locking hangers for valuable pieces in reach of a doorway.
We hang into plasterboard and dry-lined walls, solid brick and masonry, lath and plaster, and from original picture rails. Fixings include plasterboard anchors, wall plugs, D-rings and wire, mirror plates, cabinet hangers, and French cleats for heavy or oversized pieces. We bring the fixings and the tools.
Different job? A television goes up differently, so see TV wall mounting. For window dressings see blinds and curtain rails, and for storage see fitting shelves.
What it costs
Labour only, charged by time. Fixings are on top and you get an estimate before we start. The times below are typical, not fixed prices.
Where we cover
We cover all London boroughs plus the TW, KT, CR and BR postcode areas. London walls run from Victorian lath and plaster to new-build plasterboard and post-war concrete, so we carry fixings for all of them. Engineers cross central London by motorcycle and scooter, which means faster arrival and easier parking.
Landlords and letting agents
Mirrors and framed prints going back up between tenancies is routine work for us. We arrange access with your tenant or collect keys from your agent, so you do not need to attend.
Account invoicing and pre-approved spend limits are set out on our landlord services page.
How we hang it
First we check the wall and the weight, and detect studs, cables and pipes before anything is drilled.
Then we agree the height and position with you, and mark it out. Nothing is drilled until you are happy.
Last we fix it with a fitting rated to the weight, check it with a level, and clear up the dust.
Why Silver Saints
Picture hanging FAQs
Can you hang pictures today in London?
Often yes. Silver Saints usually has same or next day slots for picture hanging in London, and every booking carries a one-hour arrival window.
How much does picture hanging cost in London?
A single picture or mirror is done inside the first half-hour, so from £60 plus VAT in labour, plus fixings. Then £30 plus VAT per half-hour.
Can you hang a heavy mirror on a plasterboard wall?
Yes. Silver Saints finds the studs behind the plasterboard, or uses anchors rated to the weight, so a heavy mirror in your London home holds securely.
How do you hang pictures on lath and plaster?
We fix into the lath or the stud behind it. Plugs pull straight through the fragile lime plaster of a London period wall.
Can you hang a gallery wall of several frames?
Yes. Silver Saints sets the layout out first, agrees the spacing with you, then drills once so every frame in your London home hangs level.
Can you hang art without drilling the wall?
Sometimes. In a London period room with a picture rail, Silver Saints can hang pictures from the rail on cords, with no wall fixings at all.
Can you fit security fixings for valuable art?
Yes. Silver Saints fits anti-theft plates and locking hangers, so valuable art in a London home or gallery cannot be lifted off the wall.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. Silver Saints gives a 12-month guarantee on labour and on parts we supply for picture hanging in London, against faulty workmanship or failed parts.
