Insurance and fire doors
Many home insurance policies require external door locks to meet BS 3621, the British Standard for thief-resistant locks, and fitting one can be a condition of cover. We fit locks to that standard on request, so check your policy before you book.
On a fire door, the ironmongery is part of the fire rating. Hinges, locks and latches have to be the right specification, which matters in flats, HMOs and communal areas.
We fit like-for-like rated components on fire doors and do not modify a fire door in a way that would compromise its rating.

A door that will not latch has usually dropped, so swapping a perfectly good handle or lock fixes nothing.
