I asked for an electrician to fix my flickering lightbulb and I was slightly surprised to hear it was the fault of the lightbulb (not a transformer) which he said did not exist with my system. He replaced the lightbult (thank you). Sometimes, however, the light is still flickering but not so much as before. As I have been out a lot this week, I am keeping an eye on it so will be in touch if the problem continues!
