Whether to cure a leak or just because the current sealant has become mouldy and unsightly, renewing the silicone sealant around a bath or shower screen is one of the simplest ways to freshen up your bathroom.

What is involved?

All the old silicone will need to be completely removed, the surface cleaned and dried thoroughly and a new bead of silicone seal applied.

How long?

Resealing a bath or shower tray is one of those jobs that requires attention to detail. It is vital that all the old silicone is completely removed and that surfaces are clean and dry to ensure that the new sealant has a good surface to stick to.

Expect this job to take 60-90 minutes.

Who brings what?

We will bring all the correct tools required as well as the silicone sealant.

Our Handymen carry white sealant as stock. Please let us know if you would prefer a clear or other coloured sealant.

What Else?

In a small number of cases, problems with seals are caused by unstable baths or shower trays or by loose tiles. In this case, our Handyman will advise on any further work needed.

In order to ensure a good seal when resealing, all surfaces need to be completely clean and dry, if you are planning to have your bathtub or shower tray resealed please don’t use the shower or bath for at least 12 hours before and 24 hours after the job as been completed.

What If?

We offer a Satisfaction Guarantee with all our work; if you are not 100% happy with the job done, the Handyman will return free of charge to remedy the work.
