Professional Picture, Painting and Mirror Hanging

One of the many small jobs Silver Saints professional London Handyman service undertakes is the hanging of pictures, paintings and mirrors. No matter what the size, shape or value we always ensure anything you need hung up is secure, safe and straight.

How much?

At our standard half-hourly rate the minimum charge is £40+VAT. We’d expect to get at least 3-6 small items fitted in this time. If you have large or heavy pictures you can expect to get 1-2 items hung within the first half-hour. For unusually large or heavy items, our Operations Team will advise on the likely installation time.

For £45+VAT we will hang:

• 4 small items (hung from cords) OR
• 2 small items (not hung from cords) OR
• 1 Large item

Small means less than 75cm wide or high and weighing less than 2kgs. Large means more than 75cm wide or high or weighing more than 2kgs.

Additional Items will cost:

• Small items hung from cords - £5+VAT
• Small items not hung from cords - £10+VAT
• Large items - £15+VAT

Please note that fixed prices will not apply to exceptionally large or heavy items. These will be charged by time.

What is involved?

The most important decision in hanging items on walls is knowing where they will look best. Most customers have a good idea about this, but if you want a second opinion, our Handymen will be only too happy to offer some help in choosing where is best. Once you’ve decided where you would like your frames or mirrors hung we will take care of the technical issues; selecting the correct fixings, drilling the holes where electrical cables and plumbing are unlikely to be located, securing the picture and making sure it is level.

How long?

Items which are hung from a cord will take an average of only 5 minutes each.

Hanging small pictures, paintings or mirrors which do not have a cord are likely to take between 10-20minutes each.

Exceptionally Large, heavy or complex items may take up to 30 minutes to hang.

Who brings what?

You provide the pictures, paintings and mirrors, we’ll bring all the tools needed, including a top of the range cordless drill, and a selection of screws, fixings and picture hooks. Hallow walls are no problem and even concrete walls will not defeat us.

Very large and heavy pictures may need two people in order to safely handle them. If your items are unusually large or heavy, please discuss this with our experienced Operations Team who will be able to advise you. Very often our customers supply a second pair of hands, but we can supply a second handyman if needed.

Customers want to know that electrical or plumbing supplies will not be damaged by drilling into walls. Our Handymen know where supplies are likely to pass through walls and will always conduct a survey before drilling.

When aligning a frame or mirror our handymen will use a level. If however the buildings ceilings,  walls or floors are not level themselves the picture or mirror might appear to be skew to you. This is not unusual and the solution is to find a compromise that looks right to you.

What if?

We offer a satisfaction guarantee with all our work. If you are not 100% happy with the job done, the Handyman will return free of charge to remedy the work.

In the very unlikely event that the picture, painting or mirror should fall we are fully insured. Our insurance will cover the item itself as well as any damage the item may cause if it falls.
